What Information Do We Collect?
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.
Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following: “ Names, phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, usernames, billing addresses, debit/credit card numbers”.
Information Automatically Collected. We record a product usage event when you use a LoadHunter feature — opening a screen, running a credit check, saving a posting, sending a message, changing a setting. Each event holds only the name of the feature, the action taken, an optional short label identifying which control was used, the load board and page you were on, and the time. It never contains posting contents, company names, email addresses, or any other free text you typed. Events are linked to your account username and to session and installation identifiers so that we can understand how our Services are used, improve them, and diagnose and fix errors and crashes. To reproduce and fix those errors we collect technical information about your device and software, such as your operating system, browser, extension version and window size, and which load board you are using.
Feedback you submit. A bug report or feature suggestion holds the title and description you write, the parts of LoadHunter it affects, your app version, any screenshots you attach, and the time. We also record the submissions you vote on. Since the text and the screenshots are yours, please leave private information out of them.
What Does The LoadHunter Browser Extension Access?
In Short: The extension runs only on the sites it supports — the load boards, the factoring provider you connect, Gmail, and our own LoadHunter pages. It reads the page you are viewing on those sites and, when you connect a factoring account, the sign-in credential that provider's site placed in your browser. It is not present on any other website and reads nothing there. The extension asks Chrome for a broad host permission because these sites and our own services span many domains and change over time; we do not use it to read sites outside the list above.
Load board content. On the supported load boards — DAT One (one.dat.com, truckersedge.dat.com, power-mobile.dat.com), Truckstop (truckstop.com), and Super Dispatch (carrier.superdispatch.com) — the extension reads the freight postings shown on the page and the search parameters you enter, including origin, destination, dates, equipment, rate, mileage, and the posting broker or carrier's name, MC/DOT number, and contact details. This is the content the boards already display to you; the extension reads it to sort, filter, rate, and enrich those postings, and to power features you invoke such as rate estimates, route mapping, and outreach. Postings and the identifiers needed for your saved searches are sent to LoadHunter servers to run these features. On Truckstop the extension also reads the board's own cookie in the page to tell whether your board account is a Pro account, so that it requests results in the form that account supports.
Other supported sites. On Gmail the extension adds a LoadHunter panel for carrier and broker lookups; it reads the page only to place that panel and does not read the content of your mail. On your factoring provider's own search page it can fill in the MC number you were looking at, so you do not have to retype it. On our own LoadHunter pages it exchanges your session with the dashboard.
Factoring provider credentials. If you choose to connect your factoring company account, the extension reads the sign-in credential that provider's site already placed in your browser, so that we can query it on your behalf. What we read depends on the provider:
- Capital Depot, Great Plains, Pro Funding, Partners Funding Inc, Love's Financial, and JD Factors — the ASP.NET session cookie that site set after you signed in. That cookie is marked HttpOnly, so the browser cookies API is the only way to obtain it.
- Triumph — the access token its own login (Okta) stored in that site's local storage.
- Wex — the session cookies that site set, read from the page itself.
- Compass — the login token the site itself hands to the page after you sign in.
We read these only on the factoring domain you connected, at the moment you connect it, and never on unrelated sites. The credential is kept in extension storage and sent to our servers only to relay broker credit and payment-history checks for the postings you are viewing. Disconnecting the factoring account in the dashboard switches it off, so it is no longer used for checks, and signing out of LoadHunter clears the stored credential from your browser.
Broker credit information. The ratings returned by your factoring provider concern brokers and carriers, not you. We do not use this or any other data to determine your creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Browser data cleared on sign-out. When you sign out, the extension clears cookies and local storage for our own dashboard origin (app.loadhunter.io) only, so that your session is fully ended. No other site's data is touched.
Extension storage. The extension stores your LoadHunter session token, your saved searches and filter settings, cached postings and ratings, and your feature preferences in browser storage on your device.
Content you create. When you act on a posting we store what you created together with the posting details it belongs to: postings you save, notes and reviews you write about a broker or carrier, brokers you mark as favorites, companies you choose to ignore, and your email and SMS templates and signature. This content stays in your account until you delete it.
Messages you send. When you email a broker or carrier from LoadHunter, our servers send that message from the sender address you registered with us, and we keep the message and its recipient so the feature can show you what was already sent. Text messages are sent through your own RingCentral account in the same way. Where you switch on automated outreach or Telegram alerts, messages go out on the rules you set, until you switch the feature off. We do not use these messages for anything else and send nothing on your behalf outside the features you turned on.
How Do We Use Your Information?
In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.
We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
- To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts. We may process your information so you can create and log in to your account, as well as keep your account in working order.
- To save or protect an individual's vital interest. We may process your information when necessary to save or protect an individual's vital interest, such as to prevent harm.
- To analyze usage and improve our Services. We process information about the features and pages you interact with and the actions you take to understand how our Services are used, diagnose issues, and improve our products and features.
- To review and act on your feedback. We process the bug reports and feature suggestions you submit in order to reproduce and fix problems, decide what to build next, contact you for the details we need, and publish the reviewed submission for other users.
What Legal Bases Do we Rely On To Process Your Personal Information?
In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests. If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:
- Consent. We may process your information if you have given us permission (i.e., consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Learn more about withdrawing your consent.
- Legal Obligations. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, such as to cooperate with a law enforcement body or regulatory agency, exercise or defend our legal rights, or disclose your information as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
- Vital Interests. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of a third party, such as situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.
If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you.
We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (i.e., express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (i.e., implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time. In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including, for example:
- If collection is clearly in the interests of an individual and consent cannot be obtained in a timely way
- For investigations and fraud detection and prevention
- For business transactions provided certain conditions are met
- If it is contained in a witness statement and the collection is necessary to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim
- For identifying injured, ill, or deceased persons and communicating with next of kin
- If we have reasonable grounds to believe an individual has been, is, or may be victim of financial abuse
- If it is reasonable to expect collection and use with consent would compromise the availability or the accuracy of the information and the collection is reasonable for purposes related to investigating a breach of an agreement or a contravention of the laws of Canada or a province
- If disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records
- If it was produced by an individual in the course of their employment, business, or profession and the collection is consistent with the purposes for which the information was produced
- If the collection is solely for journalistic, artistic, or literary purposes
- If the information is publicly available and is specified by the regulations
How Do We Handle Your Google (Gmail) Data?
In Short: When you connect a Gmail mailbox, we request only the minimum permissions needed to manage your broker conversations, and we use that data solely to provide those features.
When you connect a Google (Gmail) mailbox, you grant us the following OAuth scopes, and we access only the data they cover:
- gmail.readonly — Read the messages and threads of the conversations the Service is managing (to detect new broker replies and extract load details such as rate, equipment, and pickup), and your mailbox email address. We do not read your entire mailbox indiscriminately, and we do not modify, label, archive, or delete any mail.
- gmail.send — Send emails (the initial outreach and replies) from your connected mailbox on your behalf.
We request the minimum scopes needed for these features and do not request broader scopes such as gmail.modify or full-mailbox access.
Email content is processed by OpenAI through its API, solely to extract load details and draft replies for you. Because we use the OpenAI API (not consumer products), this content is not used to train any AI/ML model, per OpenAI's API data-usage terms — consistent with Google's API Services User Data Policy. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest, and we transmit data over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
We do not sell your Google user data and do not use it for advertising. We share it only with sub-processors strictly necessary to provide the Service (such as our cloud database and the AI provider above), under confidentiality and data-protection terms, or where required by law or with your consent. We do not allow humans to read your Google user data except: (a) with your consent; (b) for security purposes, such as investigating abuse; (c) to comply with applicable law; or (d) where the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
You can delete a conversation and its stored email content in the app at any time. You can also disconnect a mailbox at any time, which stops monitoring, revokes our access at Google, and deletes the stored OAuth tokens for that mailbox; and you can revoke our access directly at your Google Account permissions page (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions).
LoadHunter's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
